Plein Air
Each year, the Studio of Fine Arts organizes two plein air excursions for students, which complement the studio coursework.
- The Drawing Plein Air in Kuks is primarily for first-year students and focuses on improving drawing skills. This intensive drawing course covers architectural drawings from the Baroque period in Kuks to Modernism in Hradec Králové, as well as sketching live animals at the Dvůr Králové Zoo. It usually takes place in September before the start of the third semester.
- The Creative Plein Air focuses on free “land art” creation. It takes place in Kunčice near Staré Město under the Kralický Sněžník and involves students working on free artistic installations in the landscape. The event includes the creation of artwork, as well as documentation and presentation of their own work. The Creative Plein Air is also one of the elective courses in the third year of the bachelor’s program. It is usually held in June and is open to students from all years. A catalog is produced for each year’s event.
