The Arnošt Wiesner Award

Each year, the Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering announces the student studio work competition, focusing on projects that are intellectually stimulating, technically sound, economically viable, and aesthetically valuable. The competition motivates students to enhance the quality of their studio work, thereby raising the overall level of the Bachelor’s degree program in Building Architecture. A healthy competitive atmosphere during studies increases motivation and subsequently the quality of our students’ projects.

Conditions for entering the competition:

Students of the Bachelor’s degree program who were enrolled in the preceding winter and summer semesters and successfully completed studio courses can apply. Only school studio works AT1–AT5 that have been properly graded can be submitted. Bachelor’s diploma projects are not eligible for the competition. Students submit their work individually. Each submission must be presented in the form it was graded. Only properly labeled works will be accepted for assessment – including the student’s name, supervisor’s name, academic year of the work, semester, complete title of the work, and category* into which the work is entered. Students must submit their work in the following format: A3 report + B1 poster. Each submitting student must enter their work in the registration sheet for their category. Students should register in the category corresponding to the year in which the studio work was created, regardless of the studio’s thematic focus. Both studio works from the academic year can be submitted. Students whose works are awarded are required to prepare materials for the exhibition and for publication on the website.

* Category A includes studio works from the 1st year (2nd semester AT1), Category B includes studio works from the 2nd year (3rd semester AT2 and 4th semester AT3), and Category C includes studio works from the 3rd year (5th semester AT4 and 6th semester AT5).
